Here are 3 marketing tips for when your business is in its non-peak season or experiencing downtime.
You can use these tips as part of your online marketing strategy to be prepared for most effectiveness when you ARE busy:
1. Follow up on past and future potential projects
Get in touch with your client contacts from the past and present to let them know what you’ve been up to, and check in to see what they’re up to! You may find an opportunity to inform them of new or improved product and service offerings. You never know what they may find valuable and possibly need to purchase from you. Don’t forget, your contacts have others in their network who may need your services or products.
Make sure you also revisit leads that didn’t pan out for reasons such as schedule conflicts, or projects placed on hold. Even with leads who felt it just wasn’t the right fit at the time, you can re-frame your offer to them and ask again if they’d like a quick consult/chat. This is especially effective if you’ve made changes to your line of products and services.
2. Compile testimonials and case studies
Businesses tend to forget that the first thing prospects want to know about is past experiences others have had with your company. Gather feedback from your customers and clients and ask them if you can use it, then make sure you place it prominently in your About / case studies area of your site.
3. Focus on social media and your website
Spread few hours over a week or two in your downtime to create content. Then schedule at least 12 months of blog posts and articles for your website, which can provide fresh content periodically. You can then link to these pieces in your Twitter, LinkedIn, or other social platforms where your audience is.
